GO Short Term
Project Requirements
The Peoples Church Global Outreach department presented Quiet City Design with the opportunity to develop a small brochure to promote the year’s short-term missions.
The text and image content was provided, but the brochure layout needed formatting and styling to make it professional and attractive. Only a general and open-ended design brief was provided.
The Process
While working on the front cover of the brochure, a text-based logo was developed to help communicate the theme of the campaign. The opposing arrowheads of the “t” characters reflects the nature of the mission trip’s duration.
The Global Outreach department didn’t have a firm brand or logo, but had often used a globe as the letterform “O”. A sharper logo design was developed and incorporated as a visual aid in the brochure. The vector globe icon became a geographical marker with each mission’s profile.
The text-heavy brochure was set on a firm grid to create spacious margins. The globe and title logo were watermarked in the background to subtly unify the missions with the campaign branding.
Finished Results
The logo aided the campaign by presenting a confident and unintimidating message. The brochure clearly identified the various local and overseas missions. The visual elements were easily transferable to other marketing media in the church, including video and PowerPoint projections.
