The Salvation Army Golf Classic
The Salvation Army holds an annual golf tournament fund-raiser in the greater Toronto area. The event has grown to include celebrity hosts, food and prices. The organizers at The Salvation Army needed to develop a consistent brand for the event which could be transferable across a wide variety of mediums.
The logo was developed entirely in a vector format so it could be scaled up and down to any size without loss of resolution and image quality. A mix of hard and soft edges, gradients, lighting and shadows gives the logo a 3-dimensional appearance and the impression of depth.
To compliment the logo, a blue and green background illustration was designed. This bokeh style image sets the mood for the golf event by implying the fresh grass and sunny clear skies that golfers dream of.
The new logo has many applications, including print, web and digital media. The background works in a full-page layout as well as cropped for letterhead and web banner ads. The victorious golfer icon in the center of the logo inspires players of all skill levels to do their best, while at the same time, keeping a light and fun attitude to the event.
