Project Description: Logo design for The Haven Bed & Breakfast Inn, located in Beaverton, Ontario.  The B&B is a quiet cottage retreat an hour north of Toronto.  Self-promotion had reached the limit of owner’s Steve and Sylvia Pauls’ capability, and they needed a fresh, professional brand for the inn.

Requirements: The logo was to convey a sense of comfort, tranquility and rest.  One feature of the inn to be included in the logo was the large tree and swing that visitors would find one the property in front of the house.

The logo would be used in a variety of applications, including print stationery, labels for jams and teas, embroidered on shirts, towels and other materials, as well as web and email layouts.

Components: A silhoette of the large tree and swing in a position of rest united nature with peaceful emotions.  The final logo found the silhoette halved and the name written in a classic calligraphy fontface.  A dark green Pantone colour for the entire logo instills a sense of calm.  When printed, the logo stands well against white or cream paper.  In other presentations, the logo is set against a pale yellow, reflecting the colour of the inn.
